41 billboards throughout Hampton Roads announce the upcoming home and flower show

Each day, more than 500,000 drivers are exposed to at least one of the 41 colorful billboards announcing Tidewater Builders Association’s upcoming Mid-Atlantic Home and Flower Show Feb. 5-7 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

The ad campaign, developed by Norfolk agency Mackey Ink, is designed to reach 99 percent of the target market — women over 25 — with a frequency of nine times!

The campaign also includes full color ads in the front of main news or local news in The Virginian-Pilot and Daily Press;  full-page full-color glossy ads in Virginia Gardener and Hampton Roads Monthly; a 1/4-page full-color ad in the statewide Virginia Living; over 700,000  impressions on pilotonline.com;  more than 500 radio commercials across the area’s top stations; television spots on WAVY-TV, WVEC-TV, HGTV and Food Network, direct mail postcards to 80,000 homes, and on-air contests with major radio stations. This in addition to multiple e-mail blasts to a multitude of contact lists.

That doesn’t even include additional media coverage that’s expected to focus on the expertise of the show’s featured speakers, such as the antique appraisals by Dr. Lori, remodeling tips from Pat Simpson, topiary tips from A Man Named Pearl, and container gardening by The Renegade Gardener.

The event is designed to offer consumers inspiration for the home and garden just in time to start those spring projects. Exhibitors can still participate by contacting Kim Powers at 305-9029 or Leighann Sirmans at 305-9016.
