Environmental Stewardship Award Nomination

TBA’s Green Building Council has been nominated for a 2009 Environmental Stewardship Award from Keep Norfolk Beautiful.  These awards are presented to individuals or groups that have excelled in improving the natural environment in Norfolk through one or more of the following efforts: Increasing or enhancing public communications about environmental stewardship; Actions that resulted in the building or renovation of public or private buildings in a more sustainable way; Protection of Norfolk’s rivers, tributaries, marshes or other natural waterways; Clean City Heroes- those who have individually led or carried out a consistent and steadfast effort to improve the natural environment in his/her neighborhood, organization, school or business through litter prevention, beautification or recycling; The Ernie Morgan Award of Service, recognizing those who have excelled in their category and established themselves as leaders in engaging others to increase environmental stewardship in Norfolk.  Top honorees in each category will be recognized at the Annual Clean City Cookout on Friday, June 19th from 4pm to 6pm outside the Ernie Morgan Environmental Action Center, in Lafayette Park.  If you would like to attend this event, contact Kat Ferguson, Office Manager, Keep Norfolk Beautiful at (757) 441-1347 or email Katina.Ferguson@norfolk.gov.    Read More ...

ansi approves national green building standard

NAHB's green building program, The National Green Building Standards(TM), was approved last week, January 29th by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).  The National Green Building Standards(TM) is for all residential work including single-family, condos, apartments, land development and remodeling and renovations.  This program now becomes the first and only green building rating system approved by ANSI.  To read the full article published in NAHB's Nations Building News please click   Read More ...

Green Builder Magazine - Call for Entries
