Tidewater Builders Association established the HW10 home protection program in 1984 to provide a local home protection program that is responsive to the needs of local builders and homeowners. The coverage is available only to members of TBA who are registered in the HW10 program.

Since 1984, HW10 has issued over 63,000 policies through more than 100 HW10 builders.

HW10 builders can enroll any homes they construct, including townhomes and condominiums, provided the builder is in good standing with HW10 and the construction meets HW10 standards and state and local building codes.

Homes with a policy often sell faster than homes without one, and often for a higher value.
