The Virginia Beach House wins People's Choice Award at Spring Homearama
The Cecilia: The Virginia Beach House, built by Les Ore of Ore Builders captured the gold award for People’s Choice Favorite Home and People’s Choice Favorite Interior Design at Tidewater Builders Association’s Spring Homearama at Eagle’s Nest. It also won the silver award for People’s Choice Favorite Landscaping.

The Virginia Beach House, built by Les Ore of Ore Builders, captured the hearts of visitors to Tidewater Builders Association’s Spring Homearama at Eagle’s Nest, as well as the gold award for People’s Choice Favorite Home and People’s Choice Favorite Interior Design. It also won the silver award for People’s Choice Favorite Landscaping.

The People’s Choice Awards were determined by votes from those who attended Spring Homearama. Nearly 40,000 visitors toured the nine fully furnished and decorated showcase homes May 28-June 12.

The five bedroom, 3½ bath home features an all brick and stone exterior, a swimming pool and outdoor living area complete with a kitchen and bathroom. Inside, it has an open floor plan, first-floor master suite, home theater and custom kitchen. Interior design was by Cathy Tellefsen of Complete Interiors, with furnishings by Esprit Decor. Landscaping was by Robert Nye of Renaissance Outdoor Contracting Inc.

The Cecilia: The Virginia Beach House, built by Les Ore of Ore Builders captured the gold award for People's Choice Favorite Home and People's Choice Favorite Interior Design at Tidewater Builders Association's Spring Homearama at Eagle's Nest. The open kitchen featured a custom bar, tons of cabinet space and stainless steel appliances.

Veteran Homearama builders Steve, Stephen and Alex Quick of Stephen Alexander Homes LLC won the silver award for People’s Choice Favorite Home, the gold award for Favorite Landscaping and the bronze award for Favorite Interior Design.

Their entry, The Walnut Cottage, was a colonial revival-style home featuring a wraparound porch, dual master suites and several energy-efficient features. Interior design was by Susan Cox of Godwin Interiors and Esprit Decor provided furnishings. Landscaping was by Robert Nye of Renaissance Outdoor Contracting Inc.

Other Homearama veterans, Jeff and John Ainslie and Ken Cohen of Ainslie Group/Cohen Homes, won the bronze award for People’s Choice Favorite Home for The Rockwell. The stone, brick, shake and sided classic traditional home was themed, “The ODU House” and decorated to reflect Old Dominion University. Columned dining room with tray ceiling, a family room with stone fireplace and entertainment center and a built-in bar height breakfast table with wet bar and wine chiller in kitchen were some of the home’s offerings.

Veteran Homearama builders Steve, Stephen and Alex Quick of Stephen Alexander Homes LLC won the People's Choice for Favorite Landscaping for their entry, The Walnut Cottage, at Tidewater Builders Association's Spring Homearama.

Ainslie Group/Cohen Homes also took home the silver award for Favorite Interior Design by Nancy Craig of Willis Wayside Furniture Co. and Debbie Ainslie with furnishings by Willis Wayside. Landscaping was by Tom Rozier of Renaissance Outdoor Contracting.

Lastly, The Celebration House by Jack Schoch of J.F. Schoch Building Corp. took home the bronze award for Favorite Landscaping. The five-bedroom transitional home featured an outdoor patio with a pool by Aegean Pools and landscaping by Tom Underhill of Coastal Landscapes.

Congratulations to Randy Cowan and Danielle Woods, who each won a $50 gift certificate to a restaurant of their choice for participating in the voting.

Seven of the nine Homearama homes were sold before the end of the event. The next Tidewater Builders Association Homearama is planned for Suffolk’s The Riverfront at Harborview Oct. 15-30.
