Homemade creations took the cake and won the hearts of critics and visitors at Hampton Roads Magazine’s Taste of Suffolk at Tidewater Builders Association’s Homearama on Monday, Oct. 25. Five of Suffolk’s finest eateries provided sample fares to hundreds of Homearama visitors throughout the evening.
When the aprons came off and the kitchens were clean, it was Primo 116’s ricotta gnocchi with a crumbled sausage sauce that won the hearts of the critics and the Critics’ Choice award. A contingent of local food writers, led by Hampton Roads Magazine’s Patrick Evans-Hylton, determined the Critics’ Choice Award. The People Choice award went to O’Doodle Doos Donuts, who provided pumpkin spice, brownie batter and red velvet specialty donuts.
