Chesapeake, VA – East Beach Cos. L.L.C. won the 2006 Stanley Community of the Year Award for its East Beach community in Norfolk at the fourth annual Stanley Awards Gala Friday, April 21 at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The Tidewater Builders Association Stanley Awards of Distinction for housing industry excellence are named for Stanley Waranch, TBA’s founding president in 1953. VB Contractors Inc. of Virginia Beach, won the 2006 Stanley Award for Remodeling/Residential Addition, $200,000 and over, for a residence on Discovery Road near the oceanfront of Virginia Beach. The 2006 Stanley Awards also recognized vendors and suppliers through the associate awards categories. Architectural Stained Glass, Virginia Beach, won the Best in Bath and the Best in Interior Design awards.
Jim Richardson of Richardson Homes Inc., Virginia Beach, won the 2005 Homearama People’s Choice Gold Award for Favorite Home for The McKenzie. Paulette Frantz, a project designer for the construction department of Dominion Virginia Power, accepted the Homearama Extra Mile Award for her efforts during the annual showcase of homes. Mary-Dolph, Howard and Page Simpson of Simpson Builders Inc. were recognized for building the 2005 Homearama Charity House, “The Gift of Wes,” that benefits Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.
Building icon Frederick J Napolitano of Virginia Beach received a Lifetime Achievement Award during the evening with a tribute to him and his continued dedication to the local industry.
