Builders Selected For 2007 Homearama
Homearama 2007 Lot Draw
From left, Homearama co-chairs Bert Wendell of Wendell Homes L.L.C. and Bill Brice of WATAB Construction facilitate the Homearama lot drawing with Doug Fuller of Precon Development.
Eleven local custom homebuilders will showcase single family homes in the 26th annual Homearama Sept. 29-Oct. 14, 2007 at Edinburgh in Chesapeake.

The group includes a mix of veteran Homearama builders and first-time participants. Previous Homearama builders are Area Builders of Tidewater Inc., Charlie Anderson Builder Inc., Cohen Homes L.L.C., Joey Corp., J.F. Schoch Building Corp., R.L. Blount Custom Homes Inc., Richmarc Building Corp. and WATAB Construction Corp. Builders new to Homearama are KRES Homes, McLaughlin Construction and TCI Inc.

The development is in a lakefront section of the Chesapeake luxury-home community of Edinburgh
located just off the Route 168 bypass in the southern part of Chesapeake. The upscale site includes many waterscape features integrated into the landscape and wildlife statuary throughout.

Douglas W. Fuller, Vice President of Precon Development, the site developer, says the commercial components of the 658-acre Planned Unit Development, Edinburgh Commons East, North and West, are well under way. A Home Depot was completed in 2005 and a new Target opened in October. Several well-known chain restaurants and retailers are in various stages of approval.

It will be the 14th time Homearama has been hosted by the city of Chesapeake and it will be the 26th time it has been presented by Tidewater Builders Association. The event features fully-furnished and landscaped custom homes that are open to the public.

Along with a number of feature homes, the 2007 Homearama will showcase housing-related products and services in an exhibit area. A variety of workshops and entertainment are also planned.

A limited amount of lots are still available for Homearama builders. The lots are ½-acre to ¾-acre large with prices ranging from $255,000 to $260,000. Some of the lots are lakefront and others are wooded. Any interested builders should contact Randy Nieter of TBA at 420-2434, ext. 255, or [email protected].
