BB&T; presents Tidewater Builders Association’s Homearama 2006

Branch Banking & Trust Company has signed on as presenting sponsor of Homearama 2006, according to Tidewater Builders Association, which is hosting its 25th annual event this year at The Estates of Pitchkettle Farms in Suffolk, an Ainslie-Widener development.

More than 100,000 guests are expected to attend the event, open Saturday, Sept. 30, through Sunday, Oct. 15. It will showcase 15 fully-furnished and landscaped custom homes offered for sale by custom home builders.

“We depend on our sponsors to help us stage this event,” said TBA President John Olivieri. “Their support helps us to offset the operational and promotional costs of such a large event. Having BB&T step up to offer this show of support means a lot to the success of the event.

“Ultimately, they are not just supporting TBA, but also the builders and all of the exhibitors who depend on this event to get their products and services in front of consumers.”

“It was a natural extension of what we do,” said Bob Boyd, Regional President of BB&T of Virginia. “We’ve always been supportive of TBA and have a long history of being involved in the construction and real estate business. It was such a natural fit.”

A TBA member for more than 20 years, BB&T values its community outreach. “It’s important to us at BB&T that we have a strong commitment to the communities and make our local communities a better place to live and work,” said Boyd. “And TBA has a strong community outreach program as well – from the Building Trades Academy pre-apprentice program, to the Scholarship Foundation, to the Charity and Scholarship Houses. It was only natural to align ourselves with TBA.”

This year’s veterans Homeraama builders include Area Builders of Tidewater Inc., Chesapeake; CAJE Group, Norfolk; Charles A. Schmitt Contractor Inc., Virginia Beach; Charlie Anderson Builder Inc., Chesapeake; Crestline Homes, Virginia Beach; G.S. Williams Inc., Chesapeake; J.F.
