Home sales and marketing achievements recognized

Tidewater Builders Associationís coveted Sales and Marketing Awards were presented at a banquet at the Norfolk Marriott on Friday, March 9. Winners were recognized for achievements in community development, marketing, merchandising and new homes sales. In all, the winners closed a total of $342,523,159 in new homes in 2000. Mary Louise Kettering of Leading Edge Realty was named Salesperson of the Year for closing the highest dollar amount ($9,820,098) of new homes. Denise Rose of Rose & Womble Realty Co. won the Marketing Director of the Year Award for the second consecutive year. Rose has served as the marketing director for more than 25 builders, representing 38 different communities. She was recognized for handling all marketing for more than 1,200 homes sold last year, with only five staff people, and a whole host of Herculean accomplishments.

Sales Manager of the Year was presented to Linda J. Bass, MIRM, of Long & Foster Realtors. In 1997, Bass began a new homes operation for a major real estate company with no agents or builders. By 2000, she was managing 15 new homes communities with more than $53 million in sales volume. Bass is a past SMC chair and winner of the Tidewater Builders Association Associate Member of the Year.

Mortgage Professional of the Year went to Mary Beth Bracken of Advance Mortgage Co. In 2000, she closed more than $17 million, which put her in the top 10 percent of all loan officers within the national mortgage company, with which her company is affiliated.

The Title/Closing Professional of the Year Award was presented to Laney Zimmerman Brown of Progressive Title & Escrow Agency Inc. Brown was cited for issuing more than 400 title policies during 2000.
