Editorial Guidelines

1. Articles should be submitted via e-mail to each individual magazine's editor.
2. Articles should run approximately 800 to 1,000 words.
3. Articles are subject to editing according to Associated Press style guidelines.
4. Articles should focus on education and information. Self-promotional material will not be accepted. Authors should write in the third-person voice. For example: it is critical that a merchandising company design for the market. NOT: At ABC Merchandising, we design for the market.
5. All authors are encouraged to submit photos, diagrams, illustration, floor plans or other art to accompany their articles.
6. All collateral material becomes the publisher's property and will not be returned unless specifically requested.
7. The publisher retains all rights to the articles. Contributing authors will receive no compensation for any articles published, but will receive full acknowledgement in the magazines. Make sure you include with your articles your name, title and company name and location. You may also submit a photo.
8. Deadlines for the magazines are approximately six weeks to two months before the issue date. Call the publisher at 757-420-2434 for exact dates or consult each magazine's editorial calendar.
