“Twelve Steps to a Permittable
Plan”:
Wetland and Stream Permitting
in Virginia
Mike
Rolband of Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. in Chantilly,
Virginia, hosted a presentation on Thursday, April 7, 2005,
highlighting the wetland and stream permitting process.
The presentation, entitled “Dealing with the New World of Wetland
and Stream Permitting”, included a twelve step program to achieving
a permittable plan:

HBAV Past President Declares Candidacy
On Wednesday, April
6, 2005, HBAV Past President Clement “Kim” Tingley of
Charlottesville, Virginia announced his bid to represent Virginia’s
57th District in the Virginia House of Delegates.
Running for the seat vacated by Delegate Mitch Van Yahres (D),
Tingley joins two other hopefuls contending for the Democratic
nomination, Richard C. Collins and David J. Toscano. The
Democratic primary is scheduled for June 14, 2005.

Attains National Recognition,
Garners Award
During
January’s National Association of Home Builders Convention in
Orlando, Florida, NAHB BUILD-PAC Trustees presented HBAV with a
third place award for efforts in raising over $30,000 for NAHB
BUILD-PAC during a September 2004 golf tournament at Massanutten
Resort. The NAHB BUILD-PAC Trustees also commended Virginia
BUILD-PAC
Trustees, Vince Napolitano and Ben Graham, and Trustee Alternates,
Mak Koebig and Randy Williams, for
having the second highest number of members participating in the
Gold Key Club. Congratulations!

Association of Home Builders has conveniently placed on their
website “A Builder’s Guide to Handling Mold Claims
and Mitigation”, a resource which discusses mold prevention,
discovery of mold, mold remediation, and potential litigation, as
well as other useful information. For educational purposes,
the document also includes a sample notice, disclosure and disclaimer
