Local high school seniors are invited to apply for scholarship funds from The Tidewater Builders Association Scholarship Foundation. Since it was formed in 1965, the Scholarship Foundation has provided over $1.3 million in grants to over 363 local students.  Last year, 10 scholarships worth $7,500 each were awarded to local graduates.
 
Scholarship awards will be based on academic performance, community service and financial need. The four-year scholarships can be applied to any field of study.

The TBA Scholarship Foundation is supported by proceeds from the sale of an annual scholarship house, rent from an annual scholarship apartment, and endowments and contributions from TBA member firms and individuals.

Applications are available from high school guidance counselors in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Franklin and Southampton County schools, as well as the Eastern Shore of Virginia.  They can also be downloaded from the TBA web site at www.tbaonline.org under the “foundations” link or by calling TBA at 420-2434 extension 241.  The deadline for completed applications is Friday, March 21.
