| Local Home Building Industry Honors Its Superstars | ||
East West Partners took home the 2008 Stanley Award for Community Hall of Fame, the first in this new category, for its Riverfront community in Suffolk. The community will now retire from competition for the Stanley Awards for Best Community and Community of the Year. The two other Best Community Stanley Awards went to: Marsh Lynn Building Corp. for the Best Community, Under 100 Homesites for its Chelsea Place in Virginia Beach; and Precon Development Corp. Inc. for the Best Community, 100 to 250 Homesites Award for its Edinburgh Meadows in Chesapeake. The Tidewater Builders Association Stanley Awards of Distinction for housing industry excellence are named for Stanley Waranch, TBA’s founding president in 1953.
Vickie Sessler of William E. Wood & Associates Realtors received the first Most Valuable Builder Agent Award in this new category after being nominated by L.R. Hill Custom Builders Inc.. Dusty Halstead, site superintendent for Homearama developer Precon Development Corp. Inc. at Edinburgh Meadows was recognized as the Homearama Extra Mile Award winner for his efforts during the annual showcase of homes.
